Spring Cleaning Has Begun!

Oh man, I can not believe everything I have to do. I think it could take me a few hours to write a to-do list, and it seems like each item is no simple, easy task.

I started by, starting to clean out my shed.
I can not believe how much JUNK I have, and have/want to get rid of, it is INSANE.
Yard Sales, Blog Posts, Craiglist Posts and probably an auction.

I mean it, I have a ton of stuff I am looking to get rid of, cheap or free.
Right now I have a bunch of scrap wood if anyone is interested, it is YOURS! FREE!!

Free Wood…LOL
Free Wood

I have an electric chainsaw $5 – Drop light $5, hand saw & hacksaws, free,

I also have comics listed on the site as well as vinyl. Hess trucks are coming!!!

I have tools to go through, sort, clean, compact and put into a new shed because the old one is coming out along with the porch roof and concrete under each structure.
After that, the stumps from the arborvitae will be pulled up along with the entire back yard being leveled, the best it can, due to the embankment that resides on the property line :(

old_shed_porch
The pool is already gone, the shed and porch are next to go!

Once leveled I will be putting in a 6′ stockade fence around the entire backyard.
Once that is done, I can get to work on the garden, as well as the greenhouse to replace the porch.

old_porchgreenhouse
This will come down and replaced with a lean-to style greenhouse.
(picture on the right for illustration purposes only, so is the left. Isn’t that what pictures are for? to illustrate?  welcome to my profound cranium :P )

I will also be putting in another above ground pool and a shed that is not a shed, but a backyard bar and bar-b-q.

I will equip the backyard with solar and win energy as well as solar lights and misting system.

I also have a storage facility with enough items to fill a 3 bedroom house.
I will keep posting as I go, as much as I can, as you can see, I’m going to be busy!!!

I also have computer parts to go through too.

Thanks for checking in, PCing u L8r!

DIY: Recycled Solar Lawn Lights to Solar Battery Charger

Solar Battery Charger
Here is a solar battery charger that I made from recycled solar lawn landscape lights.

The solar lights had seen better days, none of them worked, even with battery replacements. I had them for years, I guess the electronics finally gave way being buried in snow winter after winter.

I disassembled the lights and removed the solar panels.
I then wired them up together and hot glued them to a piece of cardboard while running the wires through the back of the cardboard and wired into a battery holder with 2 rechargeable batteries made for slow trickle and solar lawn lighting.

I am getting a reading on the multimeter under house lights. I will test it out in the sunlight and see what kind of output I can get.

I know it doesn’t seem like much, and it really isn’t. I’m just starting to learn electronics and this is the way I learn best. With my hands and my brain at the same time.

Banana Mango Feet Wine

I got around to racking off the Banana Mango wine and it smelled like bad feet!!!
I tasted it and it had plenty of alcohol, the after taste was FEET!!  ACK!!

Needless to say I tossed 5 gallons out into the farmers field.

Next time, ALL Banana, no mango barf!!!
I have to rack off the White Cranberry Peach into bottles, but I don’t have enough.
Maybe Ill get some tomorrow and rack off the MEAD :P
I want to clear all my carboys before starting any more new wines.

I might have to invest in this book.

Fermenting at Home

Bruce Mead!

Bruce Mead!

When I was a teen, my parents made homemade peach brandy, it was actually wine, but they called it brandy, it was really good, they only ever made it once and after watching some youtube videos, I set out to make some home fermented beverages myself :)

The first batch I made was store bought Oceanspray Cherry Juice.
1/2 Gallon, add 1 pack of yeast, shake, cover with ballon, let ferment for 2 weeks.
It had alcohol for sure, the flavor was weak, but drinkable.

My 2nd batch was with store bought apple cider.
1 Gallon of Cider, 1 pack of yeast, shake, cover with ballon, let ferment for 2 weeks.
Same as the cherry, just lacking on robust flavor, but I think I have a solution in the works with batch 3.

3rd Batch.
3, 1/2 gallons of White-Cranberry Peach Store bought juice.
3 cups of sugar, 2 handfuls of white raisins, fill with water to make 3 gallons.
Fermented for 3 weeks.
Alcohol content very good! Taste better!  must be the added sugar??

I have a batch of Banana Mango and Honey Mead working.
I will bring you updates on those very soon!

Do not follow my directions above, they are shortened to give you an idea of the ingredients and how long it takes to ferment.

Dont drink and drive!

Turbines to Speed!

Turbines to Speed!

Here is my 1st completed Electronics Project!
I bought the car and a closet light at the dollar store.
I ripped apart the light and and salvaged the parts before dismantling the car and wiring it up with 1 LED light inside the car, a switch on the back side and batteries underneath.

This may not seem that complicated, and it really isn’t, but if you don’t know how to solder, or any good at soldering, as well as trying to figure out how to wore it up, and inside something so it actually works, well, this little project took me hours.  Next time, it should be much easier now that I have an idea of what is going on in this profound cranium.

I have 2 more electronic projects in the works, a Black Box and CDROM Tree.
These will take me some time and I will post them when completed.

Thanks for checking out my 1st Electronics Project!

Getting Started with TomsPC

Electro-Brain
Hello and Welcome to Toms Profound Cranium!

I am no longer fixing computers.  I am now out of the service business for the most part. I am slowly transferring my website customers to other webmasters and designers as my life’s passions have changed, once again.

I will remain active with computers/websites/technology for my own knowledge, as well as picking up new skills, revisit old ones as I forge on creating new chapters in my book of life. I have been told a few times, and just last week, that I should write a book. Well, I don’t know how to write a book, or even want to spend the time writing a book. I thought it might be easier creating a blog and updating it would be easier, and keep you current as to what’s going on in Tom’s Profound Cranium!

What do I have going on here recently??

I have started experimenting with “Fermentation” of fruits and juices to make wine and mead. I will start some brew posts soon.

I am also messing around with electronics. PCboards, diodes, transistors, solar charging and other cool gidgets and gadgets that I can fix, repair or even create.

I will be updating this site as often as I can with as much interesting stuff that I can, not only to keep you interested, but my gray matter feeling happy and smart, as well as walking a path of right and true and coming closer to God.

For now, I have some things I want to address with this page before making any more posts. Enjoy the site and feel free to comment!

Thank You!
Tom
